Support Groups in the Cape Girardeau Region
Saint Francis Medical Center offers patients and their family members access to various support groups that meet in and around the region. These groups provide support for a range of conditions and diseases and allow individuals to share feelings and concerns with one another in a safe, non-threatening environment.

Cancer
Saint Francis Cancer Institute Cancer Support Group
“My treatment is over, what happens now?” Join the Saint Francis Cancer Institute’s Cancer Support Group for those affected by any cancer and their caregivers. Led by Dana Branson, PhD, LCSW, the group will explore her book, Through It: 50 Devotions for Difficult Journeys and meets the first and third Tuesday of each month, from 6 – 7 pm, in the Saint Francis Medical Center St. John of God conference room. Light refreshments will be served.
Supportive Counseling Support Group
The Supportive Counseling Support Group is open to anyone whose life has been touched by cancer, not just cancer patients or survivors. No RSVP necessary. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month, from noon – 1 pm, at the Saint Francis Medical Center Cancer Institute, Saint Peregrine and Saint Basil the Great conference rooms (entrance 6, third floor – map).
RESTORE Breast Cancer Support Group
RESTORE programs are open to breast cancer survivors. Presentations are offered from noon – 1 pm on the dates below in the Saint Agatha conference room (Saint Francis Medical Center, Entrance 1 – map). A nurse is available as a resource to the group, and a light lunch will be provided. Call 573-331-5209 for more information.

Stepping Stones Bereavement Support Group
Saint Francis Hospice Services offers a free bereavement support group to anyone who has suffered a loss. The goal of this meeting is to provide support and education as you take the next steps in your life. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month, from 6 pm – 7 pm in the St. Agatha Conference room at Saint Francis Medical Center (211 Saint Francis Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703).
