Saint Francis Offers Weekly Heart & Health Screenings

According to the American Heart Association® and the American Stroke Association, coronary heart disease is the single largest killer of males and females in this country. Monitor your risk for coronary heart disease and other health risks through the Heart & Health Screenings provided by Saint Francis Medical Center. These weekly screenings are offered every Wednesday from 7-10 am in the Health and Wellness Center lobby, and no appointment is necessary.

Heart & Health Screenings offer a variety of different assessments, including abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) risk assessment; blood pressure checks; complete cholesterol panel; glucose screening; stroke risk assessment; women's osteoporosis screening; and "The Works, " which includes a total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cardiac risk assessment ratio, plus glucose for diabetes. Through a grant from the Cape Girardeau County Senior Citizens Fund Board, funding is available for any Cape Girardeau County resident age 60 and older to receive "The Works" screening free of charge once per year.
