Cancer Navigator Helps Guide Patient Care

A new position now offered by Saint Francis Medical Center's Cancer Institute ensures patients do not get lost in the sometimes-complicated world of cancer treatment. The cancer navigator is now part of the comprehensive cancer care team offered by the Cancer Institute, affiliated with the M. D. Anderson Physicians Network® through the M. D. Anderson Cancer Manager® program.

 

The cancer navigator guides patients through the cancer care system by:

  • Providing comprehensive information on regional cancer services
  • Directing patients to healthcare services for further diagnosis and treatment
  • Providing educational, resource and support information
  • Offering financial solutions when needed
  • Managing the M. D. Anderson Cancer Manager® program
