SAINT FRANCIS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW OFFICERS, BOARD MEMBERS
Saint Francis Medical Center's Foundation Board of Directors has announced the appointment of four officers and five new board members. The new members, joining the Foundation Board of Directors through 2012, are Frank M. Kinder; Mary Kistner, GRI; Scott Rhodes; Jason Siener; and Jerry Waddle, EdD. Each member brings a unique perspective, enthusiasm for service and years of experience serving on community committees and boards.
Frank Kinder, president and general manager of Red Letter Communications, Inc. in Cape Girardeau, brings more than 25 years of business experience and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business to the Foundation. Kinder has served in leadership roles throughout his career, including senior manager for Accenture in Chicago, Ill., and vice president of Marketing for Nestle in Glendale, Calif. He also brings an international flavor to the board, having studied abroad at the University of Manchester, played on the All England basketball team and been invited to join an archaeological excavation in northwest Iran.
Mary Kistner is an executive broker for Realty Executives of Cape County in Cape Girardeau and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University. She has a strong tie to Saint Francis, having served as Foundation Board member 2002-2008 and Pediatric Rooftop Healing Garden Committee member. Kistner is also a member of The Friends of Saint Francis.
Scott Rhodes joins Saint Francis as vice president and co-owner of Plaza Tire Service, Inc., a regional tire and auto service business which owns and operates 50 retail tire stores throughout Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Arkansas. He is also serving as commissioner on the City of Cape Girardeau Planning and Zoning Board and has served on the advisory boards of Alliance Bank and First Missouri State Bank.
Jason Siener is president and CEO at Morsey Constructors, LLC and is responsible for overall company operations encompassing commercial and industrial maintenance and construction activities generating $40 million in sales annually. Siener has worked at Morsey for the better part of his career, after graduating from Murray State University.
Jerry Waddle, EdD, has more than 30 years of experience in education and has mostly recently served as interim dean of the College of Education at Southeast Missouri State University. He has taught at Southeast's College of Education and served as superintendent of schools in several Missouri districts over the years. Waddle was also a member of Missouri State High School Activities Association Board of Directors and president of Southeast Missouri District Superintendents. He has received several professional awards during his career, including the Distinguished Service Award from the Missouri State High School Activities Association and the Outstanding Emeritus Educator Award from the Missouri Association of School Administrators, Southeast District.
Of the four new officers, two will be serving their second terms and two will be serving first terms. David Crader will serve his second term as chair; Kevin Spaeth will serve a second term as vice-chair; Norman Glaus will serve his first term as secretary; and Janet Esicar will serve a first term as treasurer. These officers will work with the other members of the Foundation Family in continuing to support the mission of Saint Francis.
David Crader will be serving his second term as Foundation chair. Crader, president, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Bank of Missouri, has more than 25 years of banking experience. He also served as a boiler technician in the United State Navy for four years. Crader attended Mineral Area College in Flat River, Mo, and later attended Southeast Missouri University for graduate school. In addition to the Saint Francis Foundation, Crader serves on several boards in Perryville.
Kevin Spaeth is also entering his second term, as Foundation vice-chair. Spaeth is a partner at Rice, Spaeth, Summers & Heisserer, L.C. in Cape Girardeau. Spaeth attended Southeast Missouri State University for undergraduate studies and earned his Juris Doctorate from Washburn Law School. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Family Learning Center in Cape Girardeau.
Norman L. Glaus was appointed to the Foundation Board in July 2008. Glaus is a certified public accountant (CPA) and owner of Glaus & Associates, C.P.A., L.L.C. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. Glaus is involved with several professional groups, such as Cape West Rotary, the St. Vincent's Men's Association, and was active with the start up of the Cape Area Youth Soccer Association.
Janet Esicar has been involved with Saint Francis since 1998, when she began serving on The Friends of Saint Francis Board of Directors. She has been treasurer, vice president and president for the board, in addition to serving as co-chair for The Friends of Saint Francis Benefit Golf Tournament in 2002 and 2003 and as co-chair for the Ken Hayden Memorial Golf Tournament in 2006 and 2007. Esicar is currently senior vice president at First Missouri State Bank and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She is also a United Way board member, an executive committee member for the Southeast Missouri State University Booster Board, a member of the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce and a past board member for the American Cancer Society®.
