Heart & Health Screenings
Saint Francis Medical Center offers Heart & Health Screenings every Wednesday, 7-10 am, in the Health and Wellness Center atrium lobby, 150 S. Mount Auburn Road. No appointments are necessary for the following screenings.
Blood pressure checks: FREE
Glucose screening for diabetes risk: $6
The complete cholesterol panel screening includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and cardiac risk ratio. For accurate results, a 10- to 12- hour fast is required. Please take usual prescription medications with plain water only during fasting.
The Works screening includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cardiac risk ratio and glucose. For accurate results, a 10- to 12- hour fast is required. Please take usual prescription medications with plain water only during fasting.
The women's osteoporosis screening measures heel density. Removal of socks and shoes is required.
Saint Francis receives grant funding from the Cape Girardeau County Senior Tax Board to provide a limited number of FREE Heart & Health Screenings for Cape Girardeau County senior citizens. You are eligible to receive "The Works" free of charge once per calendar year while funding lasts if you:
- Are over 60 years of age
- Reside in Cape Girardeau County
- Have screening results sent to your physician
