- Stretch muscles before physical activity
- Exercise to strengthen muscles
- Take short timeouts from repetitive tasks
- Cushion joints when possible
- Avoid sitting for long periods
- Practice good posture
- Relax your grip
- Take breaks frequently
- Be conscious of form

- Keep hands warm
- Get plenty of vitamin D and calcium
- Add soy to your diet
- Limit alcohol intake
- Keep caffeine consumption moderate
- Do not smoke
- Investigate hormone therapy
- Incorporate weight-bearing and strength-training exercise
- Exercise on a regular basis
- Use good upper body mechanics
- Maintain proper posture when seated
- Warm up and stretch
- Review techniques
- Straighten your wrist
- Build wrist strength
- Use ice often
