Influenza Prevention

Saint Francis requires all colleagues to be vaccinated for the flu to prevent possible exposure to our patients. Colleagues with a medical or religious exemption are required to wear a mask at all times during cold and flu season.

With a stroke, time lost is brain lost. Identifying the signs of a stroke and treating stroke efficiently and safely are critical.

Sepsis is a complication from a severe infection that can cause organ damage and even death if not identified and treated quickly. Our sepsis treatment is better than state and national averages.

Our Family BirthPlace follows best practices and strategies that foster the best care for both the mom and baby. One of those best practices is to avoid elective deliveries, inducing labor before 39 weeks of gestation without medical necessity. Saint Francis outperforms Missouri and the U.S. when it comes to discouraging early elective deliveries.

Hospital Compare Overall Ratings

In fiscal year 2020, Saint Francis Healthcare System received a four-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and key stakeholders developed a methodology that calculates a star rating in order to easily compare overall hospital quality. This rating takes into account both reimbursements received and quality of care provided. Saint Francis Healthcare System is proud to report an improvement in our rating from three to four stars from 2018 to 2019. Fewer than ten percent of hospitals in the nation receive a five-star rating.
